DYEING ORIGINAL OEM SEAT COVERS

Here you will find a few examples of just what dyeing an original OEM cover and belt can do for a seat. Obviously an old worn and faded red seat cover will look more dramatically different when restored to its original color, but even a black seat that looks fairly nice and only slightly aged and looks good from 10 feet away will look impressively like new once thoroughly cleaned, dyed and a new logo is installed. The dye treatment is not strictly cosmetic however. We hand brush the dye into all seams including the mounting skirt to protect and add life to old aging threads and heat seams to preserve the integrity of the original cover and to prevent future seam splits. We can also attend to buddy strap belt restitching, polishing the trim strip (on or off seat), frame derusting , treat with oxidizing agent and touch up with the original cover intact.

Trim Strip Molding Replacement or Repair

Cool Retro Bikes can REFURBISH your seats trim strip, remove small dents, remove scratches & gouges, sand and high polish to look like new OR we can REPLACE your old dented, scratched & rusty chrome/stainless trim strip molding with our NEW replacement trim strip molding which is more durable than original OEM trim and will NOT RUST OR DENT! This trim strip is available as an option with Seat Cover Kits, but is NOT sold seperately. Send your seat to us and we will install it for you if you. This is a Cool Retro Bikes EXCLUSIVE ITEM!

Chrome Button Rivets & Hardware Replacement

Are your Seat Button Rivets OLD & RUSTY? Cool Retro Bikes can help you renew your seat trim. We offer these as a DIY product on our Seat Cover Kits page or send your seat to us and we will install them for you Our Replacement /Reproduction Rivets are high polished and clear coated to resist rusting. Better Than OEM Original ! The photo below also shows our replacment Belt hardware, which includes the rivet - plain head bolt , nut and washer for mounting the belt to the buckle and our high polished phillips head bolt , nut & washer for mounting buckle to the seat. Accessories Repairs and Restoration

The photos below show a few more examples of restoration, everything from hardware derust, polish and renewal to vinyl repair and color match touch up. The hardware shown below are part of a set of RARE Honda Dream Red Saddlebags, and in this case it was not feasible to detach the hardwrae to polish it, refinish it or replate it and reattach. So alot of TEDIOUS METICULOUS care was given to these parts to protect them during the restoration process and assure they remained as original as possible, while saving the integrity of the irreplaceable original OEM part.
